The reality is that when you’re growing a business in healing or helping profession, you want to have certain specific foundational pieces in place first!  Like deciding who you’re serving;  having systems in place to run your business effectively – like email management systems, bookkeeping etc; and having step by step strategies to communicate with and enroll clients.

There also comes a time through the evolution of your heart-centered business, when you start to realize you want to maximize what you’re doing, to make a healthy income and attract your ideal clients!  That’s when the light bulb moment happens that says you’re ready to become VISIBLE in your practice, and step into a bigger playing field!

1)       You’re starting to feel frustrated and even a little stuck.  That you have a few clients, but really want more clients – and not only that – your IDEAL clients, to build a solid income  in your business, as well as help more people. Keep going for G.O.L.D dear fellow Lightworkers and Soul-o-preneurs! 

We all have things technically we could call our Kryptonite!  Obstacles that we create that stop us, get in our way, take us off our game when we’re not looking.  These can be hidden beliefs, that might have helped us at one time, but perhaps are now not serving us now.   Or maybe expectations – those make relationships with others and ourselves difficult when we set parameters on outcomes – when we learn to let go of the outcome of our intentions, life becomes a lot easier.   Judgement is also ‘kryptonite’, when we judge ourselves or the people around us -  making them less than, and causes a lot of unhappiness for the person judging, often because they spend a lot of time judging themselves harshly – it is a really stopper in getting moving on the things you want to do as you just end up talking yourself out of everything.  Fear is also a really ‘green monster’ – kryptonite, that stops us in our tracks or dictates how we spend our time, going around the long way, instead of confronting and stepping through the issue.

My Kryptonite was definitely a vow or belief I created because fear! Double whammy!  As a kid I got stage fright badly in front of the whole school at the age of about 8 or 9.  I swore to myself I would never be the focus of attention again.   I have always secretly desired the ability to be able to stand up in front of a room or be a school play where I could sing solo, but no, I always chose the background.  Hey I’m a Leo, and we like to be in the limelight, so you can see the conflict here!   And then I realised in the first couple of years of my business that speaking really was a great opportunity to get the word out to share all the great things that would help many peoples lives!  I agreed to a talk a few months in advance, and just a few days before the talk, my Kryptonite took effect literally!  I felt ill, couldn’t function, couldn’t eat – I was literally terrified.    I wanted to face my fear and get over my fear of being the center of attention, and bit off more than I could chew! Or so I thought.  My friend Karen Cummings, hypnotherapist & reiki practioner, came to my rescue!  I had a wonderful session with her, doing guided imagery and meditation, and hey presto! suddenly I was speaking in front of a room of 20 people, for a whole hour, and loving every minute of it!   This was just one way of dealing with Kryptonite!  Sometimes a fear or belief can be so deep seated that hypnotherapy is a great tool to deal with it.   This was a fear that was very evident, and sometimes it takes time and discussion to discover what our Kryptonite is!  I challenge you to find out!  And guess what! Now I am going to be speaking the biggest group yet! I am honored to be invited to speak at the2009  ICF Conference in Orlando.  So you see it is possible!

So you can tell there are lots of things that can get in our way, if we let them.  That is the key, we have a choice!   We can start to notice when one of these versions of Kryptonite starting cropping up, and decide what to do about it.  This is often a great time to work with a coach, as they can really help get underneathe the issue, and help with changing the patten of behaviour that’s triggered by that particular version of Kryptonite!   I have some wonderful processes that do just that….changing a belief to a new one, or clearing negative mindtalk  and creating a peaceful existence.

Imagine that! Choice, peace, calm, no drama, being able to do whatever you desire without fear.  Its all possible, you just have to want it badly enough!  Take the opportunity to design life and your business the way you truly envision it with any thing or thought holding you back!   It really is possible!

Wow, the weather has been awesome! Well it has in New Jersey!  I hope it has for you!  A few thunderstorms (one took out one of my Facebook Webinars! lol) but its been great!  Our veggie community garden is growing like crazy and we have been eating beautiful stripey tomatoes, thai aubergines, and canteloupe melons to name a few.  It is amazing how satisfying it is eating vegetables that taste good, that have come from your own toiling of the soil!  And oh the abundance of it! Very satisfying indeed.

Now what I really wanted to share with you was an amazing and very touching experience I had with my husband on Wednesday night, when we went to Count Basie to watch John Legend, and India.Arie.  What a treat the evening was, both amazing artists, and in such a beautiful setting too.  (I love the Count Basie theatre, and it looks amazing after its makeover!)    To my surprise, India.Arie, came on the stage, started singing and then left the stage a couple of phrases into the song – noone really knew what was going on.   She was gone a while, and her band did an amazing job singing and continuing to entertain us, while we waited in consternation. (they were actually excellent in their own right!)  After a while India came back on the stage, and shared something very touching.  You could see she had been crying, and she shared with us that she had watched a documentary on Joni Mitchell the night before who was one of her role models, and how it reminded her of why she loved her, that she stayed away from the commercialism of the music industry and really stuck to doing music that was close to her heart, and spoke to her soul – she felt she had strayed.  And so she did a set that was completely unplanned, she took her hair off (literally), she brought her mother on stage, and sang some beautiful and very touching melodies and words.  I shed a few tears myself. I want to honor India for her courageous, and her ability to create the awareness for herself around what’s most important to her and then own it. She really did that night.  Thank you India, you are an inspiration.

So as a coach, I was ecstatic to see someone like India who is all about living in integrity with who she is, her values, and how she wants to effect this world.  I was enraptured and enthralled. (I don’t know if I have any more words to describe it…lol)  She is an amazing role model, who really can have a huge impact on the world in a very powerful way.  One person can make a difference.  Also being out of integrity with oneself, brings about unhappiness – we all saw that on Wednesday.  Follow what truly speaks to you, and your heart.

My dear hubby and I are off to Nr Ireland and Spain tomorrow for a couple of weeks, well deserved rest – after dh having a mild stroke a couple of weeks ago, and myself with symptoms that  seem to point to  Lyme Disease  – we really are looking forward to the break.  Time with my goddaughter in Spain, one of my oldest friends (we go back 20 years!) and my aunt and uncle who are coolio!  Beach, pool, beach, pool, and sangria!

Are you catching the successful biz worm!?

Spring is definitely in the air!  I am embracing the warmth and the beautiful bright blossoms when I’m on my walks!  It feels like a rebirth, a re-awakening…coming out of hibernation.  Its time to get inspired, feel inspired, and take action!

Its perfect timing really, without my even planning it that way. (isn’t the universe powerful the way it lines things up!?)  What am I talking about?  This week, I am facilitating a workshop, on Tuesday the 21st April at the Unitarian Church on West Front Street in Lincroft NJ (very near the GS parkway).

I am so excited!   My friend and colleague Michelle Schubnel, owner and CEO of Coach and Grow R.I.C.H.  is doing her normal 1 day in-person workshop as a 8 week program by teleclass!  It’s called ‘Attract Great Clients & Fill Your Practice Fast‘!     When she held her workshop in NY last year,  I wasn’t able to attend as I was visiting family in Spain, and most of her workshops she runs are in San Fransisco!  so the universe is now lining up for me to attend now!
