It really surprised me to find that Steve was a wise soul with wisdom and insight that belied his corporate exterior and carried him through his life in a way most unsuspecting.  (whoops there was me in a little judgement there! ;O)

Enjoy his powerful metaphysical messages which were imparted at a time, when he was not aware he would die as soon as he did, and yet shared such incredible insight  and teaching!

So now you’ve heard his powerful messages on trust, intuition, following your heart, never settling, and always live knowing that death is going come as a given!   My mother is a strong example of how living life to the full every day, riding her horse and gardening, when she died very suddenly of a massive heart attack at 61yrs old.  She died with her boots on so to speak, as did Steve.  Steve literally stepped down from Apple weeks before he died. He loved what he did.

What I would like to do is build on Steve’s powerful message.  He landed on his love – great looking technology.  You have found your love whether its coaching, healing or some kind of transformation. What he did really well was realize at the outset that he didn’t know everything he needed to know to run a successful business, and didn’t want to!  He invested in his business to get the information and support and people he needed to get his talents out into the world.  It turned into a company called Apple.  He couldn’t have done it on his own.

I know you’re probably not going to want to create an Apple, but you might want to create a big impact on the world, and live from a place of prosperity that gives you the freedom to do it.  It behooves you to make sure that you create a solid business foundation, and create effective visibility strategies in your practice that will help you find your ideal clients and for you to easily find them!  Your passion and skill isn’t enough. Create the sacred vehicle that will help to put it out into the world and do what you came here to do!

When we’re conscious of being fearful about something, we can choose to do something about it. If not then the opposite is true. I believe that’s a universal truth for all of us. Whether we choose to work through a fear that’s apparent to us, is our choice. Sometimes as human beings we’ll live in that comfortable space of denial; some of us will be aware of our fears and hang out with it – perhaps putting some avoidance behaviors in place; and some will tackle their fears head on.

Feel stuck? Like climbing a mountain?...

I can happily say that I have dealt with some huge fears eg. the fear of public speaking! Some of you might relate to that. What I realized was that I had an intrinsic desire to be in the spotlight (probably the Leo in me), I knew speaking was a powerful way to grow my business, and also knew in my heart that I would reach many more people who needed my support in growing their soul-driven businesses by speaking on bigger stages. I took a leap! I made a commitment to give a workshop 3 months out, so it didn’t feel so scary and I knew I would deal with whatever came up later. Oooh boy, did stuff come up! In the week before the talk, I had a visceral reaction to my fear. Real fight or flight symptoms. I felt sick, couldn’t eat, everything passed through me like water (too much information?), couldn’t sleep – I was a wreck. Funnily, it didn’t ever occur to me to try to cancel or get out of it in some way. I was in for the long haul – probably my deep desire to resolve this fear and use this powerful tool! Happily I can share with you that after some hypnotherapy and EFT, I was able to give my first talk to 20 people for a whole hour, and really ENJOY the experience. Now 4 years later I’m talking on International stages, and have a successful speaking career as part of my coaching and mentoring business supporting soulopreneurs like you!

I recognize that there are some other deep-seated and perhaps irrational fears that lurk, that I could choose to deal with, but they don’t feel like they’re getting in my way of generally living the life I desire, and I can choose to deal with them at some point when I’m ready. I also know that there are other fears in there that need attention that ARE getting in my way. They have become obstacles to me moving forward in my business, and I’m becoming aware of how they’re stopping me. Fortunately I’m recognizing them by noticing how I’m not getting on with certain programs and projects that have been on the calendar. And I am asking myself why that is. What I’ve realized is that there is some fear stopping me, and some limiting beliefs I’ve created that are acting as roadblocks. AND I’m choosing to deal with them proactively.

It’s interesting because I sense that many of us think that our fears or limiting beliefs are only created when we’re much younger. This couldn’t be further from the truth. We’re constantly judging, assessing and observing our experiences and when they don’t feel good we make unconscious decisions about those experiences. Of course some of these are deep-seated from childhood, but it is important to be aware that it’s not always the case!

It’s not always possible to deal with our fears or limiting beliefs on our own, in fact, it’s actually unlikely. We also don’t always recognize when we have them. We most often just notice when certain situations feel yucky, or when we avoid certain situations, or when we feel stuck or blocked and don’t know what to do to move forward with a sense of flow again. I am grateful for the fabulous tools and processes I use (with the help of a facilitator) that help me move beyond these fears and beliefs. I am also so excited to be working with a coach/mentor this year who will be helping me get out of my own way by helping me to identify and shine the light on fears or beliefs that I’m not even aware of, so I can move forward in leaps and bounds in my business! Woohoo! Look out for exciting things happening on the KeystoClarity front in 2011!

The question, now is what are you willing to do for yourself and the success of your business this year? How are you going to get out of your own way? And do you think you can do it on your own? If you do, I can assure you it’s most likely going to be a slow road full of struggle to take you to where you’re going. I’m not pulling any punches here. I know from personal experience that we can’t do it on our own – not if we want success easily and with relative speed.

Part of my job as a great business coach is not just to guide and mentor you with exciting tools and resources (which of course I do) but also to help shine the light on those fears and beliefs that are getting in the way of moving you forward. And I’m blessed to have a toolbox of skills that can move you through those fairly quickly, once we’ve identified them. I often have clients share how they had never realized how something was showing up and constantly getting in their way – and they would most likely never have discovered it on their own.

This post was inspired due to a big power-outage tonight due to an ice storm! A silver-lining to every cloud you might say, as it created the space for to devote my time to you.

I’ve recognised when I moved to the US 7 years ago, that everything had sugar in it, even the bread. It was a bit of a shock to my poor body, and immediately I started putting on weight. Eventually our taste buds adjust, but of course thats not always a good thing, when you want to avoid eating something like sugar.

I probably don’t need to spell out to you, what you already know! …That obesity is one of the main causes of death in the US, and leads to diabetes, heart failure and so on. And the kids… well don’t get me started.

Its up to us to educate ourselves and pass that information on to the next generation and our clients. And, if we make a big enough noise, which thankfully is starting to happen, we can get corporations and school canteens to sit up and pay attention to the well being of our society.  I love what Jamie Oliver is doing in the school systems here and in the UK!

From a spiritual stand point, we are damaging the vessel that houses our spirit in this current life time. When we consider the body the temple that houses our spirit, being aware of how we are treating that temple, puts a different spin on it. So lets take a step to honor our ‘temple’.

Are you building a Magpie nest?

Many of us Soul-O-Preneurs are doing this in our business, thinking that if we just do this, or just do that, that it will make our business ‘better’ and we’ll attract all the clients we desire. Well, sorry to inform you – although it works well for the Magpie, it really doesn’t work well for us!

So your email inbox is getting fuller, your signing up for all these freebies, and so you’re getting more email coming through than you know what to do with. It makes things worse because you’re opening yourself up to more ‘opportunities’ than you know what to do with. You’re signing up for all these teleseminars and not going to any of them…. But you keep thinking, well I NEED to know ‘that’, and NEED to know ‘this’ to be successful in my business. And if I don’t sign up for it then I might miss something. Its almost like becoming a ‘hoarder’ but a cyber-hoarder.

Just think about how it makes you feel when you’ve have so many things going on at once! My sense is you’re going to be feeling overwhelmed, unfocused, unenergised, unorganised… phew and the list goes on. AND ultimately it can stifle what you’re trying to accomplish in your business, and cause paralysis ~ getting to a point where nothing actually happens at all! In fact one could even fall into burn out, illness or exhaustion. Any of this sound familiar?

OK well the good news is that there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!

Have you noticed how things show up when you need them the most? Thats the universe responding to a very clear message – the power of your intention – when the ‘ask’ is big enough and clear enough. So here are some clear steps to support yourself in breaking the pattern of ‘Bright Shiny Project Syndrome’:

1) Unsubscribe to all the emails, you’re no longer opening. Immediately.

2) Allow yourself 1 or 2 teleseminar calls per week, but no more than that. (I’m referring to the freebies)

3) Let go of needing everything all at once. (we know thats not working)

4) Set a clear intention for your business each week. Ask yourself what your focus or project will be for that week, and align anything you’re reading or listening to with that intention. If it doesn’t fit, turf it.

5) Set specific time aside to work on that project. That’s the follow through on the teleseminar you’ve listened to or article you’ve read.

6) Last but not least, make sure you take the time out of your busy schedule every day to ‘apply a soothing salve’ to your brain. This might be in the form of meditation (start with 5 mins if you haven’t done it before) or a walk on the beach or in the woods. Figure out what that something is that will create calm and serenity in your life, for 30 mins at  the very least.

If you’re already saying that you don’t have time to do this. I am going to put a strong ‘WRONG’ out there for you. Not that you are wrong, but that the perception of what’s supporting you is squeued. We already know that what you’re doing right now in this regard is probably not working very well.   What I can share with you with absolute conviction is that by taking this precious 30mins and doing that which feeds your soul, will energise and calm you and make you much more productive in your business.  Sound good?

I could give you more steps but again I don’t want to overwhelm you!   Just think – we are moving into an age where cyber-hoarding is now becoming very apparent, where we are starting to develop ADD because of it. If we’re serious about remaining passionate about what we’re doing, and helping others, making the world a better place, its imperative that we start laying this powerful foundation. In focusing on the ‘being’, the ‘doing’ becomes so much easier. And say goodbye to ‘Bright Shiny Project Syndrome’!

Just remember the information is always available when you need it. Get really clear and create a powerful intention daily and weekly, and you’ll be amazed at what shows up.
