Your Program is not Filling – so NOW WHAT? 3 Steps to Help You Move Forward.
Your program is not filling? I’m so sorry to hear that.
It can be a real m%ndf*ck. Sorry for the language – but seriously it’s one of the most difficult challenges coaches, consultants, practitioners and conscious business owners can face in their business.
One of my clients recently had this experience, and it really upset the applecart for her. It led to her to question everything she was doing – was her niche the right one, should she divide the program up into shorter ones, should she push out the start time etc, etc.
I feel her pain, as I had been there myself. And it really did me in for a few years – A FEW YEARS Y’ALL! WTF.
I took on the belief that I wasn’t good enough, that my opinion and knowledge didn’t matter… building on beliefs I had taken on as a kid. Some dark nights of the soul resulted because of this for me.
Also kind of ironic considering the success I’ve had in my previous career in recruitment. But yes, part of my journey in this life is to find my voice, and help others find theirs. To be seen and help others be seen.
And even more ironic, was that I had 7 people in my first program. 7!! That was pretty amazing when I look back, considering what I didn’t know. But I couldn’t see it. I had been looking at all those leaders around me who had 20,100, and even more in their programs and feeling very inadequate.
And so when you have these kinds of setbacks you can spiral.
But I want to tell you to STOP.
Hear this, and hear this WELL…
It’s not YOU.
It’s not a reflection of you.
It’s not something that happened because of you personally – so don’t take it personally. Think of this way – your program doesn’t have emotions – it’s an entity all on it’s own. And it doesn’t hold any intentions or ill will to you or anyone else. It just is.
Easier said than done I know.
Picture it this way. Each time you do a project like this – whether it’s launching a program, creating lead magnet, setting up a podcast show, doing your first live event… whatever it is…
Treat it as though you’re in a science lab and doing an experiment.
What happens when you do an experiment? You add a bit of this, and a bit of that, and see if that petri dish or test tube is having the result you want.
BUT the result you desire doesn’t always happen, does it!? Sometimes you have to adjust the ingredients a little. And sometimes you have to do it a few times over!
What would have happened if people like Michael Jordan, and Thomas Edison, and Lady Gaga gave up on the first go? Or when they heard they weren’t good enough. (And that wasn’t even their inner talk like ours!) They kept going – undeterred.
And that’s what I want you to do. Stick with it. But make some tweaks and changes as you move forward. That experiment will work – but you have to be patient, and treat it just like an experiment.
Experiments in a lab don’t work if the lab technician takes it personally every time a petri dish experiment is botched. Right? Go on, have a little laugh – it is kind of funny isn’t it?
Be a scientist in your business.
And so NOW, you get to take a step back from your efforts, and look at it from the 30 000 feet view. After all you’ve been involved in the minutae of all the things you’ve been doing to get folks to join your program, right?
Take a breath. Take a walk. Take a day, or even a few days. Talk to a supportive friend or colleague, or your coach.
Empty your mind of all the recriminations of things you’ve been telling yourself, and ways you’ve been making yourself wrong. Put on your lab coat, and let’s look at what can be changed to move forward.
YOU CAN DO THIS!
Here are a few ways to move forward… (there are many more but I’d need to look at your program or project and particular audience to be able to give you some good support)
This is a start.
3 Ways to help you move forward:
- Firstly, do a little survey with the folks who were interested but said no, or with those who went to your landing page but didn’t buy. (anonymously would be good so they can feel they can be honest without hurting your feelings)
This is how you get different perspectives that are unbiased and will help you reshape what you’re doing.
- Make a list of the ways you’re driving traffic to the offer. Are you doing one or two things or multiple strategies? It’s imperative that you use a number of strategies to fill a program. Or one that is SO EFFECTIVE you don’t need to do the rest – this would be pretty unusual.
I suspect there are many out there who try to fill a program by doing one thing – that often doesn’t create a personal connection and trust – and nothing else. Emailing to your list isn’t enough, inviting people from your FB groups isn’t enough, talking to people isn’t enough (although it’s a great one), boosting a FB post isn’t enough. Doing ALL of them could be.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: Do you have a big enough, or focused reach? Do you convert prospects into 1:1 clients with ease? Group programs are not for you YET, if you don’t have these in place.
- Handle your energy and thoughts. When we believe it won’t happen, it often doesn’t. I’ve experienced this personally. And one time, when I wasn’t attached to the outcome but was clear on the goal, I filled the group with complete ease. I was shocked by it. How could it be that easy? Well, I wasn’t thinking about how it wasn’t going to happen. I shifted my thoughts, and didn’t give any quarter to negative thinking. Create powerful intentions, clear goals, envision results, and keep acting on the steps you’re doing. A flow of energy is created that attracts people to what you’re doing. If you’re in dis-belief, worry, or making yourself wrong… that is the energy you’re putting out there, and that’s what the Universe will reflect back to you. It sounds woo-woo, I know but believe me, I can personally attest to this.
If this is something you’re constantly dealing with – then do something to support your confidence levels. Work with a life coach, or with an Access Consciousness/Bars practitioner(I am one exactly for these reasons) or an EFT practitioner, or hypnotherapist – someone who can help clear some of these blocks. This is key!
Think about your audience too – do they like doing things in small chunks and in-person? Do they have the attention span you need them to have for the length of your program? Do they prefer online programs, or DYI?
Ok, lots to think about. But take it slow and easy. Be gentle with yourself. Give your and your program a chance to be successful. Don’t quit the moment things go sideways. Think science lab, and experiments.
I’m uniquely qualified to help my clients help my clients figure out what might be wrong – I have a talent for getting to the heart of the issue quickly. And I am able to do Access Consciousness clearings and Journey belief changes to help with the subconscious issues driving these things that keep us stuck.
I don’t just believe in doing tools and systems and knowledge without handling the things that run us underneath too. ? If you’d like to have a chat about your marketing and what you’re creating, and where you’re feeling stuck, feel free to reach out and have a conversation with me. I’d love to talk to you. Ok, go get that lab coat on!
